Text Message Notifications
Program: eTop Technology Account Notifications · Last Updated: November 8, 2026
What this program is
eTop Technology is the managed IT provider for the businesses we support. We send account notification text messages to their employees, from one eTop phone number, only after an action on that person's work account. We never send marketing or promotional texts.
What we send
- After a password reset that your company's IT contact approved: a private link to your temporary password (the link expires in 7 days) and a help page.
- After an MFA reset: a notice that you will set up multi-factor sign-in again, and a help page.
- For new employees: a welcome text on your start date with the link to your first password.
Every text starts with "eTop Technology:" and uses fixed wording. A text never contains your password itself.
The details
- Who sends: eTop Technology, Inc., 611 W Redlands Blvd # G, Redlands, CA 92373.
- Who receives: employees of eTop's managed IT clients who have agreed to receive these texts. We text the mobile number on your company Microsoft 365 profile. If the number you agree with is different from that profile, our help desk confirms with you before any text is sent.
- How often: Message frequency varies; typically a few messages per year.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: Reply STOP to any message. You will get one confirmation and no more texts.
- Help: Reply HELP, call (951) 398-0021, or email helpdesk@etoptechnology.com.
- Privacy: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.

How verbal consent works
Sometimes a client's IT contact or a new employee gives us a mobile number over the phone. Before we send any text to that number, our help desk reads this script word for word:
This is [your name] with eTop Technology, your company’s IT support provider.
We can send you account notification texts at this number: a private link to your temporary password after a password reset, a notice after an MFA reset, and for new employees a welcome text with your first-password link on your start date.
We never send marketing texts. Message frequency varies; it’s typically a few texts a year.
Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
The number I have is [read the number back]. Do you agree to receive these texts at that number?
- If they say yes: the technician writes on the support ticket: the person's name, the mobile number, the date and time, that they agreed to account notification texts, the script version (2026-11-08), and the technician's name.
- If they say no, or are unsure: we do not text them. We give them the link or notice another way, such as by email or on the phone.
- Only the person who will receive the texts can agree for that number.
